Hi hi hi!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was a busy one. I pretty much worked the entire weekend. On Saturday & Sunday, I helped my friends at Smith Story Wines pour some Rosé at the Union Street Festival.
It was my first time to both try my friend Ali’s wines and attend the festival and both were SO cool.
No joke, they started a frenzy at the festival! We even ran out of Rosé because that summer water is an SF favourite. If you’re based in the US and looking for some fun new wines to add to your collection – give hers a go! They are very reasonably priced & damn good.
The Rosé, like every Marina girl, was my favourite. Dry, low in alcohol (aka easy to drink), and the colour was as light pink as can be. Check them out – if you’re in the Bay Area & interested, shoot me an e-mail & I will hook you up with free delivery.
Then, after the festival, I made some white chicken chili for two and watched the original Alice in Wonderland movie with my lovely boyfriend – which let me tell you gets more clear the older (& more weird) life gets. Alice in Wonderland is probably my biggest muse as to everything I am working on too, so it keeps me motivated. Not to mention, my boyfriend IS the caterpillar. ??
Also, I have been editing photos from Cabo… and I’m unfortunately not finished yet. That said, my Cabo recap will be on next Monday so stay tuned! I will spend all week finishing up the edits before and after work!
However, as I was editing my photos, I did notice my bikinis…
Ever since high school, I have been ordering my bikinis from Victoria’s Secret. It would be an annual ritual. Back in the days of catalogues, I’d thumb through them and circle the ones I want. As things got more digitalized, my physical wish list became an online wishlist.
I’ve always have been a huge Victoria’s Secret swim fan. They had every type possible from edgy, to sexy, to sporty, to classic.
When they announced earlier this summer that they will be discontinuing swim, I was really sad to hear it! Not only will I no longer have access to Victoria’s Secret Swim but it’s something I have done ever since I was 15! Sad times, but I suppose add that to list of things that are gone now.
But, there is a silver lining! Right now, their swim is on MAJOR sale as they release their Semi-Annual Sale. News is, they will remain on sale even after the sale ends.
I don’t know about you, but before Cabo, I stocked up like CRAZY! I bought about 10 bikinis and it was all abour $150 – talk about a major score.
Here are some of my the ones I picked up & ones I love
Victoria’s Secret Swim Bikinis
⚜ + Flounce Crop Top + Itsy Bottoms in Seafoam Glow :: this was my favourite! The colour looks like a Tiffany box, and the top is too cute with a high waisted maxi & some lace up gladiator sandals. I also bought these bottoms in Cool Ombre Lace to pair with it since the strings matched perfectly.
⚜ + Banded Hottie Halter + Itsy Bottoms in Black :: now this is a sexy ass bikini. I love the cut outs, the push up cuts, and the ruching on the bikini bottoms. To be real, I bought about 5 pairs of the itsy to match other bikinis. The best part about black bikinis? SO easy to match with other black bikinis! I have some insanely sick bondage-esque black bikinis from Nasty Gal that I am 100% matching this top with.
⚜ + Midi Beach Bandeau + Strappy Cheeky in Cool Ombre Lace :: the colours are STUNNING and the cut outs are so sexy too. I think this bikini is the perfet mesh of girly bombshell. I have dark hair, really pale skin & blue eyes so these colours really bring them out. I think the Warm Ombre Lace is perfect for tanned, bronzed, blonde babes! PS – this Cool Ombre Lace will pair perfectly with anything Seafoam Glow.
⚜ + Crochet Surf Triangle Top + Surf Crochet Cheeky in Black :: First things first – HUGE fan of the nude + black combo. The contrast is striking, and I love the delicate, skin-showing crochet details on this. The bon voyage is great for all you fellow DG sisters with the blue & pink details!
⚜ + The Plunge Halter in Ink Blot :: So I actually bought this top to go with these mesh bikini bottoms. This was one of my boyfriend’s favourite looks of mine from Cabo. The colour is perfect and I love the Deep V cut in this bikini! Check the top out in the below Cabo selfie 😉
Happy shopping! Let me know what bikinis you get! The pricing is too good, right?!
Now, how about you – what are your favourite bikini styles? Anyone else as sad as me about Victoria’s Secret Swim getting discontinued? And if so, where to next for your go-to bikini shopping destination?!
