setting my 2020 BFG: Big Fun Goal!

who said all goals have to be so serious?

Inspiring newsletters are kind of my jam!

Two months ago, (does December seem like ages ago to anyone else btw), I read a newsletter by Jon Gordon on goal setting for the new decade.

Not just any goals but BFG goals aka big FUN goals!

Basically what fun goal do you have that you want to experience this year or decade?

& – most importantly! – it doesn’t have to be all business either.

It can be something like: perfecting my vanilla cake recipe; go to Tokyo; visit a new area in California, learn how to knit, a bucket list hiking trail… the list goes on and on!

Basically, something FUN to accomplish for the year – kind of a light hearted goal!

Most goals or resolutions tend to be on the heavier or laborious side so it’s a fun shift in prioritizing… after all, the fun is what life is all about!

There are various hobbies that I look forward to getting into in 2020 so they all weave into my smaller fun goals.

As far as my BFG for 2020? To be the best damn wife I can be to Erik, especially since 2020 started by secretly getting married in the Sonoma Coast.

& it’s been fun! With each day, our house starts to feel more and more like home & our relationship feels stronger than ever. And to be the best wife to him? That means I have to be the best wife to myself too.

So far, it’s included: trying new recipes together, slow mornings together, doing small acts of service {one of his love languages}, not compromising our quality time with junk {looking at you, social media}, & most importantly, enjoying the present. It’s kind of like making our everyday feel like a vacation – that’s my {big, fun} goal!

I also personally like to journal these fun goals outout. It’s a wonderful prompt & every day, make sure you do something to accomplish the goal!! Create some customized habit trackers – after all, your daily habits are your identity so you might as well have some fun with it! Speaking of habits, LOVED Atomic Habits.

SO something to think about as we settle into the new year & decade. What FUN goals would you like to accomplish in the new roaring 20s?

Feel free to share as I’d LOVE to know yours too!
