Outfits of the Week: 12.2 – 12.8

what i wore & did in san francisco

Happy Sunday!! It’s actually Erik’s birthday today 🙂

I’m going to start posting my weekly looks here on the blog. I figured it’s a fun “quick post” look for everyday wear. To keep it fun, I’ll update it everyday at real time and press publish as soon as I’m done with the last day.

I recently cleaned out my closet and put away all things out of season. Basically, I made a list off of my December aesthetic on what I was feeling for winter: cloud white, wine red, emerald green, shades of blue, ribbed & cable knits, turtlenecks, & more.

I put aside a lot of clothes in the process: new additions to lazy luxury, “out of season” pile to revisit in seasons to come, & a donate pile. With each season, I’ll rinse and repeat with clothes I’m not wearing.

Not only is my closet super streamlined but it’s all clothes I truly love! Since I shopped Black Friday, I will not be buying anything for the remainder of the year. So THAT inspired me to start this series that I see on so many blogs. I figured it was a fun way to see what I’m {re}wearing & styling.

As far as my style, it’s very casual. I think the term is “normcore“? Very California casual, with soft fabrics & textures. Lots of mocknecks, flowy silhouettes, elastic waists, vintage style denim, & layers. Living in San Francisco, the majority of my closet is sweaters & sweatshirts!

In fact a big reason why I wanted to start this is because sometimes I find it hard to find outfit inspo that I’d actually wear. In fact, I turn to Pinterest & vintage shops more times than instagram or blogs for fashion inspo. I’m not looking for anything groundbreaking or something totally trendy: instead, inspo on how to wear the basics and items I already own.

I’ll try to link the exact item when I can. I buy so much resale & many of the “recent” brands I wear are finds from years past {2013-2017ish so not quite vintage} so I’ll also find similar options from brands I enjoy!

hit up the local boutiques on Polk Street to find Erik’s birthday present! The two winners were Russian Hill Bookstore & Belle Cose. Erik also got me the Air Pods Pro and I LOVE THEM – especially for my walks to my secret place. I’ve been loving putting on a chill lofi playlist & running errands or walking to the water. These are my first pair so I have no idea if it’s better than the regular but I really like them, the charging case is dope, & the noise cancelling is super effective. Now to find a cute case or them! Any reccs?

I always love San Francisco after a rainy day, especially around the holidays. There’s such a magic! We went to a local wine bar called Bacchus & watched the cable cars and then had an outstanding dinner at an omakase called Kinjo.
