Can you BELIEVE it is May?
I’m straight shocked about really just how fast April went. I feel like every month though, I’m in awe about how fast things are going.
In fact, it’s my birthday month and every year, we have had a mini vaca planned and this year, we have nothing. All I know is I want to stay in California & I want to be oceanside watching the sunset every night.
But that’s not the point of this post. The love I have for oceanside sunsets is basically equivalent to the love I have for this blouse… which I’m sure you can gather is one of my favourite things.
Express is seriously killing the blouse game this spring. I find every single blouse I’ve gotten from them this season is just so chic and polished.
Off topic, but I feel like Spring was SO short. We will be coming into summer before we know it. Anyone else?!
I’ll admit what got me was the print. I have these pants & love the fabric and saw that they came out with it in a blouse. To make it even better, it came in my fav colour: blue.
Now what caught my eye about this blouse is the menswear feel to it. That is probably my all time favourite trait in a good blouse. The cuffs are long and oversized which adds to the luxe factor in my book, but has that masculine feel. Instead of buttons, the silver clasps really just add to the outfit.
It has a relaxed fit, and can literally pair with anything. Here, I’m wearing it with some Gap x Cone Denim kick flare jeans. This collaboration was one of my favourites & I stocked up on quite a few. Shop them here – they are on major sale!
Pair it with some vintage jeans – I think it would look great with straight or bootleg denim too! It would look great with some white linen pants, work slacks, shorts, you name it. Tucked in, untucked, or the “blogger tuck” – you know, tucked in the front & relaxed in the back – it’s a winner. As far as shoes – anything goes! But I think it would be so rad with my favourite Filas that I wore here.
I’ve worn this out for dinner & drinks, I wore it out to a picnic, I wore it on a walk to the pier, worn it to wine country or a movie night. Seriously, it goes anywhere.
Anyways, had to share this blouse, I’ve worn it almost every single weekend & it’s one of Erik’s favs in my closet as well as mine 🙂
How about you – you like? This was one of those blouses that in person just blew me away. I’m thinking of getting it in red too so I can wear them with the matching pants. It would be great for an at home date night look too. In fact, next time I wear this, I’m going to wear the blue with the red striped pants. Hmmmm I’m thinking this is post worthy 😉
Ok time to cook some dinner. Lots or recipe testing this week! Tonight, we have some lemon caper sole with greens & veggie kale ravioli. YUM!
Anyone else swear by a good blue blouse?? & if so, let me know which ones, there’s always room in my closet for them 😉
