Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré: the French pharmacy favourite that’s rocking my world

My love for this creme runs deep.

There are some products that I use for the first time and instantly know they are the one.

The Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré from France was one of those.

In fact, one of my biggest regrets from our 24 hours in Paris last year was not spending any time in the pharmacies there. I know I really missed out. Ordering from Amazon doesn’t feel QUITE the same… but it did come here in less than 24 hours, so there’s that.

For starters, it’s a multi use product. Embryolisse is THE PERFECT product for travel because it’s a cleanser, moisturizer, mask, primer, make-up remover, baby cream, shaving or post-shaving lotion {for men too!}… you can even use it on the ends of your hair!

This is legit ONE PRODUCT that just does it all. In fact, I can’t WAIT to bring it on my next flight {August – November get pretttty travel heavy: New York, Dallas, Austin, Florida, & more} for my in flight mask.

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is a cult favourite from Paris: favourite of models, favourite of makeup artists… hell, it was a favourite of Jane Birkin.

The cream itself is rich but not greasy at all.  It is extremely versatile – you can use as much or as little as you want, depending on what you are looking to achieve with your skin. A little Embryolisse goes a LONG way with it too so the package will just last you forever. It’s been awesome during the summer and I can’t wait to use it for the colder temps too.

Here is my routine with the lotion. In the morning, I wash my face with it & follow up with a hyaluronic acid foam from Tokyo. Then, I use a toner from the same Japanese line { seen here } & follow up with the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré. I use about a dime size in the morning & love it for priming my makeup. At night, I wash my various Japanese cleansers – post for another daywith all the products I use – same toner, a Japanese plumping gel creme & let that sit for like 20 minutes or so. Then, I put this on THICK & go to bed and let it all absorb.

Within a week, my skin was noticeably softer, smoother, plump, & glowy – seriously, it radiates after putting on. Not to mention, the finish to this is just insane. It makes my makeup look EVEN BETTER on & really just smooths out my skin. It really is a wonderful primer!

Scent wise, it’s very subtle imho: a bit floral and powdery & fresh. Honestly, how you’d want your face products to smell. I’m not into a hella strong fragrance for my face.

In fact, from this post, I ended up getting the Laura Mercier products. I LOVE THEM. SERIOUSLY LOVE. But what I am reaaaalllly looking forward to trying is mixing the Emryolisse with the Lawless foundation in the post.

Main active ingredients include:

– shea butter: rich in fatty acids, keeps skin smooth, and help restore skin’s elasticity

– beeswax: skin protecting & softening

– aloe vera: full of vitamins a/b/3, free radical fighting minerals, & fatty acids that keep skin hydrated

– soy proteins: collagen stimulating {!!!}, & skin firming

I also really appreciate that it doesn’t test on animals & paraben free.

A disclaimer about the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré: I don’t know if I would recommend it for oil-prone skin. Here’s why- it has Paraffinum Liquidum… aka a much sexier word for cosmetic grade mineral oil. Here is a GREAT post that goes over the ingredients in depth. That said, it hasn’t broken me out at all {if anything, the opposite! it’s kept things clear} but some people can be very sensitive to it.

In fact, mineral oil is generally too large of a molecule to penetrate your skin but everyone is different. It’s highly emollient and retains water so it’s basically a protecting, moisturizing sheild for your face keeping things plump. Even though that description is very sexy, it’s not my most favourite ingredient. That said, this product is too good and not working against me. If you want to give it a go but don’t want to commit to the full size yet, here is a 1oz travel size.

… Also it’s obviously not Japanese. I know I’ve been on Japanese skincare kick but I was too intrigued by this lotion to not try it. & it works really, really well with my skin.

I personally like it a lot better than the Glossier Priming lotion {both the original and the Rich, which I think it’s comparable to}, which is also as buildable as this is. Love Glossier but this one just works better on my skin & I like the finish better. I also appreciate how versatile it is. I’ve also seen multiple reviews online calling this a good dupe for the $100 Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. I haven’t tried that yet so I can’t comment on it but found that verrrry interesting!

Anyways, this Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is a cult favourite for good reason. THIS is the exact place on Amazon I bought it. I feel like that’s important to mention since Amazon can get sketchy in the beauty department.

& again, it’s good enough for Jane Birkin, then it’s good enough for me! Speaking of, she’s my new inspo for bangs since I guess have full on bangs now… Silver lining?

Anyways that’s all I got – have you tried?? Do you have any fave French pharmacy finds? Share, share! This oil is next on my list & also this when I run out of my current micellar!
