cozy knits from express i’ve been living in

kinda like skims but minus the kardashian

I basically live in knits! It’s very much a part of my “california comfortable” lifestyle.

Here in San Francisco, the weather is a pretty constant 55 degrees so you can never have enough knits here.

I feel like whenever I think of light neutrals, I think: ivory, pastel pink, ice blue, & light grey – these shades really transition well through the seasons… plus, they just make me happy!

The other day, I was doing laundry & there was something soooo soothing about seeing all these light, soft colours all in one spot.

This may be random but I LOVE Express sweaters. They’re surprisingly high quality & I wear them year after year. The biggest hack with Express – or anywhere – is to size up!!!

It makes everything look a little more luxe {or expensive lol} & gives more possibilities on how to wear.

Also, get creative on how to wear things! I’m constantly wearing things backwards for a different fit. PS – try wearing a white tee shirt backwards for a more “square” kinda mock neck!

Sizing up adds more options & I always prefer my clothes to be a bit more on the long line silhouette than skin tight.

Anyways here’s some cozies from express that I’m loving

Fuzzy Fur Belted Cardigan: getting major SKIMS vibes from this! I reccomend going up a size or two in this for that slouchy look. Super versatile to wear as a duster or as a top on it’s own! Would also look chic with a gold chain belt. I love the warm ivory too!

Knit Belted Duster: I have this in Alabaster and I am obsessed with it!! I love the knit fabric & throw it on over everything. All the reviews say to size down but I sized up & glad I did! It’s a little more draped, versatile, & I love the longer lines – it reminds me of Japanese fashion a lot. I love wearing this with raw hem light wash jeans & a white mockneck or as a dress!

mixed stitch sweater: this sweater is so perfect, it’s insane. I love the fisherman style & impressed by the quality, esphe thick neck and open stitching. Both the ivory & truffle pink are beautiful. Size up one size in this to make things less boxy and more slouchy. This + some satin pants or over a slinky slip, please! See it in action here & here 🙂

sash tie wrap long sleeve tank: I have this thing for waffle shirts & this one is perfection! I’m getting major ballerina vibes. Perfect to wear around the house with ribbed slinky pants but it would looks great with high waisted skinny jeans. Size up to have more leeway with fit a bigger bow!

supersoft cardigan: you had me at supersoft! This fuzzy cardigan is perfect on throwing over any outfit. Would also be super chic belted & over a dress. I personally love wearing cardigans buttoned & the front tucked into trousers with some vintage loafters. This looks super oversized so I’d order my actual size… for once lol

I’m getting Skims vibes from that first one too! How’s the sizing on it would you say??? Do you have it?

yup, i have this one! so it depends how you want to wear it honestly. i sized up one size and love how it fits, but if i ever wear it as a wrap sweater, i def need a bra underneath. if you want it as a cardigan or duster/robe or over clothing, def go larger for a longer line silhouette. if you want it as a wrap top, i’d stay true to size. length wise, it hits me upper thigh so it’s not as long as the SKIMS, but you can prob go up a size or so for that longer feel. i LOVE it & the color is perfect: think a nice warm white & hardly sheds! let me know if this is helpful! x
