This outfit has been a go to of mine.
It’s easy, breezy, and effortless. I love the nautical vibe it has & have a major thing for navy and white.
I personally love twill fabrics, they are sturdy with a bit of a slink. I recently got these wide leg twill pants from Express & they are just everything I am looking for.
I know what you’re thinking… twill for summer? I know you see it a lot for cooler temps. Well in San Francisco, the answer is yes. It’s currently foggy & like 60 degrees.
That said, we are coming on the last month or so of summer & pumpkin latte season will be among us before you can say “omg I love Fall” ย so these just work!
I love that they are wide leg & give that nautical vibe. The navy is currently sold out but it is available in light pink or black!
NOW THE SHIRT….
It’s obvious how much I love my baggy button downs. I’ve been a long time fan of Express’s portofino & city shirts however lately… I’ve been finding myself bored with the fit. I have SO MANY of these shirts, but I was over the fit.
I’ve been shopping vintage a LOT. Seriously, I basically live on depop and some of my most wonderful finds, like this Burberry tee I found in Harajuku, are from shopping vintage.
I feel like I need a full blown post on vintage shopping but one of my rules is that size goes out the window.
I look for the item first & personally I always want things bigger vs smaller. ALWAYS.
I like looser fitting button downs to begin with. I find that they are far more versatile and you can customize it as you want. I also like soft, silky blouses.
SO- I had some extra rewards to put to use at Express and wanted to spice up my City Shirts & Portofinos so I bought this & this in an XL. I had NO idea what to expect since I ordered online.. The shirts came in and I was SO pleasantly surprised. This is the Solid City Shirt in White in an XL & the fabric is just perfection ๐
They fit EXACTLY how I pictured it. In fact, here I’m wearing the cream one as a light weight jacket {wearing the same twill pants}.
I stopped buying my exact size, instead, I buy according to the item and how I want it to fit. Think relaxed & breezy.
Its been my new fave secret & I don’t even have to steal Erik’s shirts. In fact, I LOVE buying vintage designer men’s shirts on Depop. The fit is just right. I have two Zegna shirts coming in that I am BEYOND stoked about. Depop is seriously jsut the best.
Anyways just wanted to share since this outfit is a one stop shop: both the pants & blouse are from Express AND the blouse is 40% off.
And of course, I topped it with my fav chain belt – I got this one from Brandy but you can find PLENTY online or on depop. I love the vibe it lends to it & it’s nostalgic in all the right ways.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Mine was…. just ok.
Long story short, I got a haircut & it was a disaster. The first salon lost my appointment {ugh} & so I scrambled to find a walk in somewhere. I would say by a stroke of luck I got one, but I wish I didn’t. I wanted to shorten the length a bit {!!!! i know who am i right?}, texture things up, and add Alexa Chung-esque curtain bangs…. instead: the length was kept, zero new texture, & I have “I Kissed A Girl” Katy Perry bangs. BUT on the bright side, let’s just say I have a TON of hair content coming. In the past 48 hours I became a pro at fixing/hiding botched bangs so there’s that? I’ll get the length fixed at some point and at least my bangs will be exactly what I want in like a few months? FML.
Okay on that note, gotta go pop some biotin, ugh. Any hair growth tips, LMK, I need alllll the help I can get…
