Shannon Silver in San Francisco wearing a sweatshirt from Depop! • essellesse, a san francisco based lifestyle & vintage blog

April was a good Depop month!

I talk about Depop often because that is where I do most of my shopping! I talked about it more in detail here but think of it as an “instagram for vintage / thrift” clothes. I find that the prices are more reasonable than poshmark and honestly? I find the clothes are so much more cooler with a certain vibe.

There’s lots of designers & rare vintage and if you know waht to look for, you can find a gem. I type this in an aqua blue vintage Dior sweater I got for like thirty bucks 😉

One thing I really like about Depop is the ability to “like”. Basically, I always like before I buy. It helps me keep track on what’s catching my eye & when I’m ready to buy, I always buy from my likes. It can also open up a conversation with the sellers {btw more times than not, you can work with them on a price}, but more importantly? It helps me shop with more intention.

I’ve been doing a lot more things with intention lately. From blogging, to instagram, to shopping. By doing so, it helps me remember my WHY {remember this throwback post – I actually think it’s more relevant today than it was in 2015}. Shopping with intention results in making smarter choices & investments and not buying just to buy.

SO without further ado, here is a quick IGTV on everything I got from Depop in April!

& see them in action!

vintage bill blass shorts

{ I love the D ring detail & carpenter pockets! This is so fun to dress up and down & totally transformable. I LOVE clothes that can transform. I can wear them as bermuda shorts or cuff them for a more casual short short look! They are high waisted and about 1-2 sizes too big which I LOVE because I can cinch with a belt for a “lazy girl paper bag” look!}

american apparel pastel sweater

{ we LOVE pastels here at essellesse! I love a good fisherman knit sweater & in SF, it’s always a bit chilly… even in the summer. This is a great sweater for Spring & Summer and will look super kawaii with the shorts above! }

1990s Rodeo Drive Beverly Hills Sweatshirt

{ I’ve been lusting over this sweatshirt since January and finally took the plunge and SO GLAD I DID! I love “souvenir” sweatshirts and I’m constantly looking for them for places I love. Los Angeles is my second home & hopefully will be my soon to be home, so it’s fun to represent… not to mention, I LOVE the fonts and design on this! }

San Francisco Yacht Club

#slsootd may 1, 2019 • san francisco lifestyle blogger, shannon silver, wears a vintage 80s sweatshirt with linen shorts

{ this was an early birthday present to myself that I’ve been wanting for months! I love that it’s San Francisco & the nautical yacht club vibes. I obviously don’t have a yacht but I half joke with Erik that I want a membership at the yacht club by the golden gate view to have a glass of chardonnay at sunset with golden gate views – it’s the only bar in the city with it! So dress for the job you want right? All jokes aside, this sweatshirt is gorgeous and I love the pastel detailing on it }

{ these were an impulse buy bc they were only $8! I love elastic waist and drawstring denim. These have such a casual vibe & in fact, they remind me a lot of chef pants!! I wear them around the house often with the same vintage cardigan pictured above – in fact, this is probably my go to “chilling at home” outfit! I’m thinking about cutting them with a slit on the outside or into shorts. Thoughts?}

calvin klein denim jacket

{I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect denim jacket for months& TBH it was THIS SPECIFIC ONE. I was looking for a 90s Calvin Klein with the patch on the pocket. I got a men’s medium which is my fave size to buy vintage, so it’s slightly oversized. It goes with EVERYTHING and has gotten SO MUCH WEAR! I probably wear this 5x a week and when I’m running out of the house, I always throw this on over whatever I’m wearing!}

Hope you enjoy!! I am working on a secret project that should be launched sooner rather than later. Basically think inspo on how to shop & style within your own closet and rewearing things vs buy, buy, buy.

Speaking of shopping with intention, when I ordered everything in April, one big reason was that everything really went with each other, so it has been fun to style accordingly. Also how would you style any of these items? I’d love to know!!

Any fun weekend plans? It’s our last week before we go out of town for my birthday so it will be pretty low key. Erik got me a Sega genesis for my birthday {!!!!} so I’ve been playing that a lot!! If you need some netflix reccs, I gotcha covered!

Have a wonderful weekend and see ya tomorrow,
