#AFWT :: AMAZON FASHION WEEK TOKYO 2019 A/W • DAY THREE

Amazon Tokyo Week Day Three!!

and more shows! There’s almost double the amount of the past two days.

I know I keep saying this, but I’m really loving what I’m seeing. It’s so interesting to see what’s trending among brands. It’s really lit up an excitement for me for fashion – I’ve also taken SO many notes on how to incorporate.

I can’t wait to play with that in my closet, I’ll be sure to get it on here too.

Basically, so many unexpected, fresh way to wear things.

There are a lot more shows over the next few days, so these posts will be even more image heavy! All photos from Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo unless otherwise specified.

Hope you enjoy!! Any trends you’re digging? LMK

Ema Rie, a women’s order made Haute Couture / Wedding Gown line, was established in 2013 by Japanese designer, Ema Rie.

Her new collection is her first under her new name. It’s particularly exciting because {another quote bc it’s better than I could from}: “This collection will feature fashion dresses created by EmaRie and Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with RIKEN AIP and UTokyo IIS&IRCN, with the aim of future coexistence between Human Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence.”

JOTARO SAITO

instagram • twitterfacebook • website

Established in 1996, Jotaro Saito is a Kimono brand by Kyoto born designer: Jotaro Saito. He made his debut at 27 and was Japan’s youngest kimono designer. His kimonos are classic & contemporary and his brand is a lifestyle that “enjoys Japanese taste”

The theme of the a/w 2019 collection is “Do Not Disturb. A very elegant show, with a runway decorated similarly to the fabrics. The runway itself was beige, with purple & white lights – giving the models an ethereal look as they moved elegantly with poise on the runway. Notable guest models include a samurai model & actor Taichi Saotome.

If you are looking to invest in a kimono, I’d absolutely recommend his designs. They are classic yet modern all while staying in line with tradition. Jotaro Saito is looking to spread the kimono abroad & I am here for it. Such a stunning garment & a beautiful way to appreciate a huge part of Japanese culture. I would absolutely love to see this spread worldwide, especially to the states. Here is a great article to read more on this.

Key trends: jewel tones; black & grey together; geometric patterns; high shine fabrics; denim; “lowcoat”; blues; pops of lime green

NEGLECT ADULT PATiENTS

instagram • website

Neglect Adult Patients is a unisex RTW brand by Junnosuke Watanabe.

SUCH A COOL SHOW!! Basically, the models came out wearing black shirts that said MODEL with manequins holding the clothes. I absolutely loved the concept of this. I would not be surprised in the slightest if I see other designers copy this.

The theme was “FAKE” & the clothes made a huge statement: a noticeable, cheeky one was the faux fur & in giant painted letters said FAKE FUR. That was easily my favourite piece of the collection & I hope to get my hands on it ASAP.

Key trends: faux fur, grafitti decals, blue, red, buffalo check, back detailing; velour tracksuits

where to buy: MULTiPLE MANiACS

how to apply to your own closet: wear button downs or blouses backwards, leopard print with red

THE RERACS

instagram • website

Naomi Kurahashi established The Reracs in 2010. This Men’s / Women’s RTW brand focuses on the silhouette / fabrics while keeping things modern yet classic.

If I could describe this show, it would be sleek, modern, & icy {I mean that in the best way}. Models walked the grey runway in various shapes of grey. Think lots of layers, mix of suitings with drawistring pants; & layered necklines. This brand is another easily unisex one and is equally modern & timeless.

Key trends: icy tones; high necks; sleek lines; long coats; drawstring pants; fair isle print;

where to buy: online
