#AFWT :: AMAZON FASHION WEEK TOKYO 2019 A/W • DAY FIVE

Amazon Tokyo Week Day Five!!

We are at the home stretch with the second to last day of Tokyo Fashion Week!

It has been so fun to cover this from afar. I’ve loved everything I’ve seen and it’s been so interesting to see what’s trending. There are a lot of trends that I am just so excited to shop my closet for.

Whether it’s pairing colours or an unexpected way to wear a look, I’m feeling so refreshed with what I have – I can’t wait to put some looks together… & of course blog about it!

Any favourite looks so far?

The 2019 A/W show was based on being lost in a fairy tale. It was very whimsical & inspired by designers Tokuko met in the Baltic countries. The textiles were bright, colourful, & patterned. Florals were a big theme too as inspired by the Eastern European spring blooms.

ha-ha

instagram • twitterfacebook • website

ha-ha was established in 2013 by designers: Tomomi Kamoshita, Natsuki Saida, Manami Sato, Kanon Maeda, & Kanna Negishi.

ha-ha is a men’s & women’s ready to wear line with a lot of personality. & the show absolutely delivered.

It was a fantastic show. Very moody & trend forward. The clothes were very transformative & demonstrated with the model. For example, a model may take off a layer or hand off a layer to the next model. That was a really neat touch to really peel off the layers and see how things were styled. There was also a model in a wheelchair which was really refreshing to see – the Tokyo runways have been more diverse than any of the other fashion week’s & I hope that trickles down to the others.

Key trends: black, red, blue, waist emphasis, strong shoulders, athletic / sporty vibe; buckle closures; big layers; knee pads; dimension; suits; strong silhouettes

where to buy: Marché Southkichijoji

how to apply to your own closet: extra skinny jeans / leggings with oversized outerwear; big layers; big belts over blazers

This was an interesting show because it was all online! I thought that was a fun way, especially in this internet age, to show a collection. The personality shone through the screen & this was a fun street fashion collection that was very with the times.

Key trends: graphic tees; plaid; navy & red; slim suits; checker prints; pattern matching

Quick recap: #slsasks is a series of questions that both Erik and I answer on the blog! I keep a running list of questions in a notebook for the blog and I asked them to Erik one night and it was so fun to learn more about him. I’m sharing them here weekly so feel free to save these to use as icebreakers {see the #slsasks hashtag for more}! Fun for a chill date night or at happy hour with the friends but also love to do them solo to learn more about yourself. If you’re a blogger, they can make fun future blog topics too {+ handy if you’re having writers block}! 💕✨
