As someone who works in an office as well as blogs full-time, I am constantly on the go.
That said, sometimes I pull
really, really, really late nights.
If I am up late working on a blog post (though I’ve gotten much better at it, it still happens), I still need to be in the office bright and early. Or let’s be real, sometimes I have a little bit too much to drink the night before & the morning soon comes and I need some, err, extra help.
Not only do I need to be in the office, but I need to look fresh, put together, & well… presentable. ?
Though my biggest beauty tip is to drink tons of water with lemon & collagen in coffee (caffeine & aging prevention? down for that type of multi-tasking), these five staples have really simplified my make-up routine.
On my “no make-up” days, I always have these on.
For sexy date nights, these are always my base… just add a sultry lip, a lil cat eye, and bold brows.
They are all very natural, super flattering, and almost all are great for any kind of skin tones (the exception being the last one).
Not to mention, it makes packing for travel THAT MUCH easier! If I have all five, I’m good to go. If I want to make sure I have enough for a night out, I just add a good brow crayon (obsessed with this one), lip colour (love Russian Red for the perfect red), and eyeliner!
⚜ ONE }: Egyptian Magic Moisturizer
Hands down, the best damn moisturizer on the planet. I bought it in November of 2014 and became hooked. It has a vaseline-like texture, but melts in your skin.
I use it day and night, and keep 4 bottles of it: the 4 oz for at home, the 2 oz for traveling, a 2oz at my boyfriend’s, and a small lip-balm size to throw in my bag. I’m not even joking, that’s how much I have on hand at all times, and I go through & replensih it all CONSTANTLY.
I, unfortunately, don’t have the best skin, but this has made all the difference. For more coverage, I like to blend this in with some bb or cc cream (currently using this one – it’s made for selfies! LOL but srsly tho it is).
I also like to use it and gloss my eyelids instead of eyeshadow.
It’s all natural with SIX ingredients: Olive Oil, Beeswax, Honey, Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly, Bee Propolis.
TIP:: I like to mix a few tea drops oil to this as I put it on my face to keep annoying breakouts at bay!
⚜ TWO }: Nars The Multiple in Orgasm
So everyone knows all about Orgasm by Nars but this one of the Orgasm collection is my favourite. I don’t like using any powders on my skin so I love the creamy texture to this, the nice golden shimmer, & the dewy look.
It’s my secret to brightening up my skin and making me look more…alive. Rather than getting major under eye bags, when I am running low on rest, my skin gets corpselike pale so this is a necessity.
I also love to use it on my lips and sometimes on my eyes (under the Egyptian Magic above) for an all around sexy look (coral/gold really enhances blue eyes), not to mention, this goes with every single skintone!
+++ did you know that François Nars had the name to the blush before the colour?
⚜ THREE }: Sephora Contour Inner Rim Gel Eyeliner in Wide Eyed
If you’ve been reading my blog, you KNOW I am obsessed with this liner (PS – it’s under $10).
This is THE best secret to wide awake eyes. It’s far more natural than white, and one swipe of this makes all the difference.
I used to be one of those girls who could not live without mascara, but I can actually skip mascara if I have this on.
…Plus, it’s made especially for your inner waterline, so it has the staying powder of an annoying clingy ass ex-boyfriend who just can’t let it go.
This is seriously the best damn lip plumper and such a good deal! It looks great alone, but I love to use it as a base before I put on lipstick.
It works instantly, and your lips will look & feel a bit more Angelina Jolie like. Plus, it’s fun to prank your boyfriend and tell him that it’s liquid lip balm 😉
⚜ FIVE }: MAC Pro-Longwear Liner in Nothing Sexier
I know, I know, another nude pencil.
This lipliner is the exact same colour of my skin and I actually love to use this to contour my lips. It helps me manipulate the shape a bit without it being obvious.
I also love to use this liner for a polished look with the lip-gloss above. It’s also great for some “out there” colours that don’t come with lipliners for a clean look. Not to mention, it’s perfect to use under your eyebrow to enhance your eyebrows if you’re in a pinch.
These five ride or dies are essential to my everyday look and have saved my ass when I’m looking a little rough around the edges.
What are some of your favourite ride-or-die products?? Tell, tell! Always looking to add some to my arsenal 😉 Thinking about trying Glossier?
++ my make-up bag (different colour, same style) here – the best for travel AND you can get it monogrammed!
